The Rise of New Money

This great country has long observed the control of what is described as “Old Money,” money which is had through fortunate ancestry.  Recently there has been a rise in that which we refer to as “New Money.”  This phrase refers to those who have come from poor beginnings and have risen themselves in financial status through the sweat of their brow. They have thus created factories, shops, and businesses of their own that provide them with wealth beyond that which they came.
One such example of this rise from feeble beginnings is found in a local factory owner. This man is known as Mr. Rouncewell. He comes from a family that has had its place for years in the household at Chesney Wold. They have served at the feet of the Dedlock family tirelessly. This young man has been the first in his family to go beyond these constraints and pave a new way for himself and the future generations of his family.
