Recently I have traveled as far as
Australia in hopes of finding great adventure, but what I found in my
experience there was much different than anticipated. Upon arrival at the
landmass, I found myself marveling at the wonderfully warm weather and at the
nice greeting of people. The place was not at all as I had imagined. I expected
arrival at most uncivilized dreary place with simple, undeveloped people. I was
immediately off to a place of dining in which I was served a delicious and well
coursed meal, another surprise. These people also displayed a good beginning
sense of manners. They talked of similar dinner table topics as I have with my
companions here at home in the larger world. When I inquired of arrangements
for religious service, they replied that it would be of no issue as they had
such services as we did here in our home country. What shocked me most was an offering
of a fine cup of tea at tea time. Even
as I sit here today, I am still astonished that those residing in what seems
like it should be a desolate, uncivilized place can in fact mirror that of our
great sense of society here in London!
