Brainstorming

By: Tim Vorwald

The brainstorming process of my group is one that was in constant development up until the day of our presentation. From the very first day of our meeting to discuss the topic of the role play and how we were to go about coming up with ideas for it. This is something that did not take us very long because when it came to the issue of money being an important part of our role play we decided rather quickly that we would include Lady Dedlock as one of our characters. The next thing that we had to come to a decision on is how we would be able to incorporate travel into the role play. We decided to use Mr. Woodcourt because we had read about him taking a trip abroad in Bleak House. Our next issue was how to unite the two into a single role play. This is where the idea of putting Hortense into the play came from with how she was dismissed from the Dedlock’s service. Over the next couple of days we met with some regularity to discuss scenes in the script of the role play while we each had examined a certain aspect of the money and travel. It was through these meetings that we each contributed in our own way a portion of the presentation and the role play. One of the issues that we were always talking about was the incorporation of the class in to the role play which after much discussion we decided to keep it simple.
